Cody and Sara | Charlotte Wedding Photographer

June 6, 2011

It was a hot day outside – but you would not have known it by the calm and collected demeanor of these families.  Cody and Sara celebrated their wedding day surrounded by the sunny smiles, fervent prayers and joyful tears of their family members, and in that way they are truly blessed.

I  L.O.V.E. this.  The next two pictures of Cody happened right as the doors opened.  The picture on the left was right as the doors swung open.  Can’t you feel the air being sucked out of the room??  And then the next one with the huge smile…. that’s when he saw his lovely bride!

And she was truly lovely!

These next two are my personal favorites….

Cody and Sara – God bless your new life together in Hickory!

You know those kids that have a mind of their own, but are so stinkin’ cute that all you want to do is squeeze them and let them do whatever they want?  That was this little guy.  He loves tractors, driving cars, and Smarties.  And he made me run.  Which was also good, because it reminded me of my desperate need to exercise.  I appreciate his Momma letting me take his pictures!

I had the most fun with Chase and Bailey because they were so easy to work with, and completely adorable.  I just love it when the groom is up for anything because sometimes guys can take a little convincing!  I hope you enjoy some shots from their engagement session!

A little black and white… | Charlotte Wedding Photography

January 22, 2011

Sometimes when I get a chance I like to go back through and find an old photo that wasn’t originally in my top ten favorites from that shoot and see if I can give it new life in Lightroom….  I ran across these that I liked initially, but after I worked on them a little I am in LOVE!!

Happy Third-Snow-Day-in-a-Row Everybody!

January 11, 2011

I’m not one for cold weather photography… but I snuck out onto my porch, in my SOCKS, no less, to get this shot of the streetlamp backlighting the trees.  Kinda neat, huh?   Reminds me of this verse…. “Though your sins be as scarlet, they will be washed white as snow…”

November 11, 2010

November 6th was the day that Chelby and Jason became man and wife.  Chelby was a beautiful bride – she looked like a glamorous, vintage porcelain doll, and the setting sun shone a warm light into the sanctuary that just made her glow… such a peaceful and beautiful moment!  She and Jason were married at the Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte, NC with the reception at Whitehead Manor.  Many thanks to Terra Bailey for allowing me to second shoot!  This may be flower shot overkill, but I really liked both of them!

I really like this shoe shot…

I told Chelby I wish I had a belt like this just to wear around the house…. it was gorgeous.

Favorite shot of the day!!
Or wait…. was it this one…

Lindsay and Corey | Charlotte Wedding Photography

November 5, 2010

The Rock Barn in Conover, NC, was the setting for October 23rd’s lovely wedding – Lindsay and Corey have known each other all their lives, and they were finally joined as man and wife!  Thanks to Terra Bailey for giving me the opportunity to second shoot – I would have hated to have missed knowing two such lovely families!  I had two favorite moments of the day – one was when the bridal party was introduced.  Instead of just reading out their names, the bride and groom and written little notes for the DJ to share telling what each member of the wedding party had meant to them.  And my other favorite moment was when Lindsay and Corey chose, instead of the traditional bouquet and garter toss, to award a flower to the couple at the reception who had been married the longest!  So sweet.  I definitely cried at least twice…. congratulations, Lindsay and Corey!!  (Click to see photos bigger – they look better that way!  I am so over this whole wordpress blog thing!!)

Their wedding had a vintage theme… and the whole bridal party rode to the reception in vintage cars!

Corey and Lindsay rode in a truck he had restored with his own bare hands!

I think I have an obsession with flower girls.  This beauty spent most of her time “texting”, arranging the bride’s veil or running from me crying “I don’t WANT to say cheese!”

But let me just say now I do not EVER ask a child to say cheese – so I’m not sure why she was worried about that! :)

The ladies!  Notice the flower girl on the left…. love it!!

I love moments like this.  This is what a wedding is all about!

October 24, 2010

I am so excited for my new association with Terra Bailey of Terra Bailey Photography in Hickory!  She has asked me to work with her second shooting some weddings, which I was thrilled to do!  I am excited to show these photos I captured from Stephanie and Justin’s wedding at Walker Hall in Greenville, SC.  It was a true southern wedding… full of charm and emotion, beautiful people in a beautiful place on a beautiful day.  Wedding photographers are truly blessed with a fantastic job!

Stephanie’s dress was by Maggie Sottero.  So girly and unique.  It took her mom quite a bit to lace her into it!

The flower girl saw me coming from a mile away…. you would think a little girl in a fancy dress would want her picture made… not so much.  I was able to get some cute shots of her though, including this one that was shot through the glass doors at the back of the church as she watched the bridesmaids come into the ceremony.

Here’s another one shot through the same doors… I love the colors and the anticipation!

I think Justin was touched… look at his face as he sees Stephanie coming to the front with her parents.

Justin’s mother, with Stephanie’s parents in the background…

A shot of Stephanie through the harp….

The happy couple!

The getaway car…

Stephanie and Justin, may the Lord bless you as you embark on this new adventure!  And Terra, I hope it’s the first of many! :)

What a GORGEOUS afternoon!  Cody and Sara, I so enjoyed working with you and I can’t wait until your wedding.  I think you are perfect for each other!

August 14, 2010

Kara and Mark’s wedding was such a blessing… while they may have arrived at the church for their wedding as two individuals, it was breathtaking to see them united in the eyes of God and walking out of the church as one.  Their day was sweet and meaningful, and yes I did tear up when Kara’s bridesmaids gathered around her in prayer before the ceremony started.  What an amazing gift to have a group of friends like that!  Here are a few more favorites from their day.

This one just makes me laugh… you can click on it to see it larger.
